The Trooper Story

The Trooper Story

The Storm Trooper box was borne out of the personal neuroses of our founders and
the rapidly changing weather conditions across the globe. The catalyst for its
manufacturing is the superstorm that hit the United Arab Emirates and its residents
quite severely on the 16 th of April 2024. And thus, UAE’s first ever, homegrown brand
of a complete and comprehensive Emergency Survival Kit was born. We hope it
gives you peace and security if mind and that it keeps you and family safe always.

My earliest memory of my parents training and teaching me anything was that of ‘What to do in the event of an emergency?’ I assumed that all parents had these rigorous sessions with their children so never thought of it as odd nor out of the ordinary. As little as age 3 years old, I remember by mother coaching me and showing me a briefcase containing important documents which I’d need to grab and run hell for leather should the event arose. She was careful never to mention what the situation itself would be at the time, perhaps to not frighten me, but it was implied as dangerous and potentially life threatening and that I had to save myself and only this briefcase! My father tutored me in how to use the folding step ladder so that I could reach the top shelf of the cupboard where said precious briefcase was stored. Over the years, the core story remained the same but further snippets were added to it…

For example, how to use the fire extinguisher or how to wrap one’s self in a blanket in the event of a fire. Or how to smash a window and escape with the briefcase if confronted with an intruder. Or how to save my little sister and the family dog by moving them to higher ground if the waterlogging progressed to a flood. My “in-the-event-of-an-emergency” skills were being groomed steadily.

These then were honed and polished in the time I trained as a junior doctor in the Accident and Emergency Department and in the Intensive Care Unit. We regularly underwent drills of what to do in the event of fire, nature storms involving snow/rain/hail/tornadoes, earthquakes and even violent aggression from criminal gangs and individuals. We were diligently trained on how to alert emergency services like the police and fire department and then how to safeguard the hospital or the ward we were assigned to and ensure successful evacuation of the patients and their families. All this training inevitably will transverse the professional sphere and cement itself in one’s psyche and in the home.

For almost all my adult life, I have had a makeshift box in which I have stored things that I’d need in the event of an emergency. These range from a torch to a first aid safety pouch to dry food for not just myself but also for my beloved pets. I routinely run through drills in my mind of where and how to escape my abode with my animals should the event arise. All emergency exit stairways are firmly etched in my mind and whenever I visit a new surrounding like a mall or a cinema hall, my eyes are inadvertently first drawn to the emergency exits.

I assumed this is how most people think and prep too but was surprised to learn otherwise. And thus the TROOPER KIT was born! We have designed and produced these carefully curated boxes in such a way that they contain most of the basic things a family of four would require in the event of varying emergencies. The clear labeling of the category boxes is to prevent panic and confusion during usage and we have even left space for families to customize and further add items to it like baby formula and diapers as per their individual requirements. We sincerely hope you never are in a situation where you have to delve into your TROOPER KIT but we fervently hope that having this box stored somewhere in your house brings you peace of mind; knowing that you have all you could need should survival tactics need to be activated. The colorful aesthetic further makes it easy for children to be trained from an early stage in emergency-event-training and will allow them to evolve into thinking for the well-being of the family unit.
